Judge Arthur Engoron issued an order Tuesday granting partial summary judgment in the lawsuit filed by New York’s Democratic Attorney General Letitia James. Judge Arthur Engoron granted partial summary judgment to the lawsuit brought by New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James on Tuesday.
Engoron acknowledged that Trump and his team exaggerated former President Clinton’s networth in order to close deals and obtain more financing. As part of his decision Engoron ordered that the business licenses for the defendants in New York be cancelled — potentially making it difficult for them continue to work in the state. He also ordered that an independent monitor continue to supervise the Trump Organization. In response to the decision, Trump’s son Eric – a Trump Organization executive who is a defendant in the suit – called
and claimed it was an effort “to destroy my dad and kick him out New York.” The first day of James civil trial will begin Monday if there are no delays.
