Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., was indicted Friday on corruption charges in Manhattan, N.Y., following an investigation by federal prosecutors.

The indictment was unsealed in Manhattan federal court. In the indictment, Menendez (69), the top Democrat of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and his wife Nadine (56), along with Fred Daibes a real-estate developer, are listed. The indictment claims that Menendez, his wife and Wael Hana were involved in a “corrupt relationship” with Hana, Uribe and Daibes. They also accepted “hundreds” of thousands of dollar in bribes to use the senator’s influence. The indictment states that the bribes were in the form of cash, gold, home mortgage payments, compensation for low-or no-show jobs, luxury vehicles, and other valuable items.
