DeSantis was asked about former President Trump not attending the first debate, saying, “he [Trump] owes it to the public” and him “being entitled to the nomination is absurd.”

During the interview, the Florida governor said he is ready for the next GOP debate as he believes it will be on a smaller stage due to some candidates not qualifying. “It is not my place to tell anybody who should run or runned, but I do believe that you have to choose a course of action.” DeSantis stated that if you do not have a plan, we should concentrate on candidates who have a realistic chance of winning.
