gettyIn recent studies, we’ve analyzed and examined the richest cities in other Deep South states, like Mississippi and Georgia. We’re now going to look at the wealthiest cities in Alabama, their neighbor. We used the Census Bureau’s 2021 American Community Survey Five-Year Estimates to define the “richest city” in Alabama. This included median household, mean household, median home values, and median property tax paid. Then we scored and analyzed each of these factors to create a list. Census Bureau data shows median household incomes of up to $250,000. Households earning more are denoted by “$250,000+”. The Census Bureau does the same thing with median home values, which go up to $2,000,000, and everything above that is expressed as “$2,000,000+”. Lastly, the same limits apply to measuring median property taxes paid, which go up to $10,000 and any amount above that is denoted as “$10,000+”.[+]
