The judge overseeing the Georgia election interference case against former President Trump and 18 other defendants is set to holding a hearing Thursday morning to consider a batch of requests.
Judge Scott McAffee is slated to consider motions in which lawyers for Trump-aligned attorneys Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell are seeking to scrutinize evidence gathered against them by Georgia prosecutors.
Chesebro and Powell, who are set to go to trial next month, are asking to speak to the grand jurors who indicted them for allegations of interfering in the 2020 election to keep Trump in power. The two attorneys also want to reveal the names of 30 co-conspirators who were not indicted but listed on charging documents. The judge will also be considering a Chesebro motion to unseal the transcripts of special purpose grand jury proceedings on Thursday. Powell didn’t join that motion.
